How To Cure Acne

I would like to start by saying that real acne has little to do with bad hygiene habits or having a sugar prone diet. This is just one of the myths going around that make people who have acne feel worse.

Imagine being unfortunate enough to have acne and then being told that its all your fault and its because you are unclean and eat irresponsibly. It is true that if you already have acne and you pick at it with dirty fingers you may make it worse and can cause scarring to occur, but generally speaking a chocolate bar now and then will make no difference at all.

It is also true that certain vitamins help with skin healing, for example vitamin B with zinc, and that if you make sure that you have plenty of vitamins it may help slightly, but a balanced diet full of a little of what you fancy combined with some treats will not make your acne worse.

If you already have scarring then you have some choices as to what you can do. The first is to use fading cream and bleach based products which are meant for this purpose. I cant personally recommend them as I cant help feeling that bleach cant be good for the skin and that if you use ht it may not actually make the scars fade but may leave the skin with uneven lighter and dark patches with continued use.

You can go to a beauty therapist and have a chemical skin peel which may help to lessen the depth and appearance of the scarring. I have heard of good results with this method but it may not be for everyone and you would need to take into consideration any healing time needed and how you would feel until healing had taken place.

Your third choice is to cover up the scarring. There are many effective make-up products on the market for this and it may just boost your confidence, especially if you are going somewhere special and are very self conscious about the scarring.

The final choice is to live as you are and recognize that there is far more to you than just your scarring. It may be difficult for you to accept, particularly on your face as it is with your face that you greet the world. But try to remember that it is you who are focusing on the scars, the rest of us see you as a whole person.
